The North Island of New Zealand is often overlooked in favour of the mountain scenery of the South Island. Yet it's in the North Island that most of New Zealand's Māori culture is to be found, as well as warm subtropical beauty and Polynesian volcanic landscapes not seen in the chilly south. The chapters of The Neglected North Island are divided into eight road trips.
