Spectacular fun. I challenge any fantasy reader to dislike this. Pacey, funny, intricately plotted, and full of twists and turns. A delightfully cutthroat murder mystery set against a bloody contest for the throne, with a fabulous cast of characters. Think Knives Out meets Game of Thrones – in a world rich with myth and dodgy political machinations. There’s even a bit of romance for those who partake. Oh, and it’s narrated by a (magnificent) Raven deity.
