Urban Whakapapa is a visual idary and ongoing wānanga for Deane-Rose Ngatai-Tua. It's a kaupapa that connects with  generation of urban Māori in Tāmaki Makaurau- capturing and sharing their identities, realities, stories, and experiences. 

This first print issue, a thousand wounds, explores the pūhoro reclamation journey of her husband, Jarrod Tua, as guided by her sister and tā moko artist Fern Ngatai.
